Hamp All - President

 Retired Commander Hamp All dedicated 25 years to service in the United States Navy, where he distinguished himself as a highly skilled  pilot. His military career was marked by precision 

and an unwavering commitment to excellence under pressure. After retiring from active duty, Hamp continued his passion for aviation, flying for an additional 18 years and further refining his expertise in the skies.

Beyond aviation, Hamp has devoted much of his life to search and rescue operations, contributing his time and skills to numerous teams, particularly in support of events held in the Olympic region of Washington State. His ability to perform in high-stakes, demanding environments has made him a trusted and valued member of these teams.

Hamp’s dedication to service extends deeply into his local community. He serves as a Ski Patroller at Lost Trail, where he ensures the safety and well-being of others in challenging mountain conditions. In addition, he works as an EMT with the local ambulance service, providing critical care and support when it matters most.

His extensive training and certifications include Ice Rescue, Rope Rescue, Avalanche Safety, Swiftwater Rescue, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and Jet Boat Operations—reflecting both his versatility and commitment to preparedness.

Above all, Hamp is a devoted family man. Known for his reliability, generosity, and strength of character, he is someone who consistently puts others first and would go to great lengths to support his family and friends. His life is defined not only by professional achievement, but by service, integrity, and compassion.

Bob Thornhill - Vice President

Bob has dedicated his life to service, leadership, and the outdoors, with a strong focus on search and rescue. A retired law enforcement officer from Thompson Falls, Montana, and former Army Ranger, he brings a depth of experience in survival skills, orienteering, mountaineering, and technical rescue environments. His background has shaped a disciplined, methodical approach to SAR operations, where preparation and precision can mean the difference between life and death.


As an active member of Sanders County Search and Rescue, Bob plays a central role in coordinating missions and training team members. He is committed to ensuring responders are equipped to locate, assess, and safely extricate lost or injured individuals in challenging terrain. His leadership emphasizes teamwork, situational awareness, and calm decision-making under pressure—helping bring people home safely to their families.


Bob’s passion for search and rescue is rooted in a lifelong dedication to helping others. From mentoring youth to developing school safety procedures for the Thompson Falls School District, his focus has always been on protection, preparedness, and community. His involvement with Project ASCENT and ongoing collaboration on local outdoor initiatives further reflect his commitment to building resilient, capable communities.


An avid outdoorsman, Bob spends much of his time in the same environments where SAR missions unfold—backpacking, mountaineering, hunting, and exploring Montana’s rugged landscapes. That firsthand knowledge of the terrain, combined with decades of experience, makes him a trusted leader and an invaluable asset to every mission he supports.

Michelle Greer - Secretary

Michelle Greer has devoted 26 years to the field of education, where she is known for her genuine passion for people, thoughtful approach, and highly organized, detail-oriented mindset. Her commitment to helping others grow and succeed extends beyond the classroom and into every aspect of her work and community involvement.


In addition to her career in education, Michelle has built an impressive 16 years of experience in Search and Rescue. She spent a decade serving in Fresno County, California, before continuing her service over the past six years in Sanders County, Montana. Her experience reflects both her resilience and her dedication to helping others in challenging and often unpredictable environments.


Michelle’s love for the outdoors plays a central role in her life. She enjoys hiking, hunting, and spending quality time with her family, embracing the natural beauty around her. She is also passionate about mentoring and preparing future responders, serving as the advisor for the Junior Search and Rescue Club based out of Plains High School.


Through her work in education, emergency response, and youth mentorship, Michelle demonstrates a deep commitment to her community, combining compassion, leadership, and a strong sense of purpose.

Dolly Lappico - Treasurer

Dolly Lappico brings more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, where her curiosity, adaptability, and deep technical expertise have earned her a reputation as a true “software nerd.” With a sharp problem-solving mindset and a genuine passion for technology, she thrives in fast-changing environments, continually learning, evolving, and finding innovative solutions.

Outside of her professional work, Dolly is a certified EMT with a strong commitment to community service. She is known for stepping up in critical moments with calm, skill, and compassion. Her hands-on experience spans swiftwater rescue, rope rescue, jet boat operations, and event medical support, including deployments at Spartan races, concerts, and other large-scale events.

A lifelong adventurer, Dolly has explored the world in ways few can match. She has traveled to more than 100 countries, spent over 2 years cumulatively living aboard a sailboat, and dedicated three years to touring the country in an RV with her granddaughter—experiences that reflect her deep love for connection, exploration, and living fully. Whether sailing open waters, snowboarding fresh powder, snowmobiling through winter landscapes, or exploring trails by foot, bike, or dirt bike, she embraces every opportunity for adventure.

Dolly holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and completed nearly all requirements for a Master’s in Business before choosing to step away from graduate studies to be more present in her daughters’ lives—a decision that speaks to her strong values and dedication to family.

She also has a natural talent for event planning, bringing people together with creativity, organization, and care. Known for her kind spirit, positive energy, and ability to form genuine connections, Dolly leaves a lasting impression wherever she goes and strengthens every community she becomes part of.

Karl Eveleth - Training Coordinator

Karl Eveleth brings a steady, grounded presence to every aspect of his work, paired with an enthusiasm that makes him an exceptional training coordinator. He has a quiet, calm demeanor that helps create a focused and supportive environment, allowing others to learn, grow, and perform at their best.


A dedicated family man and natural decision-maker, Karl has an uncanny ability to read people and situations. His insight into character and dynamics allows him to offer thoughtful, perceptive guidance—often delivered quietly, but with lasting impact. He has a talent for cutting through noise and helping others see situations clearly and realistically.


FAA certified and in charge of drone operations, Karl also brings technical expertise to aerial coordination and support. His ability to integrate drone assets into training and operational scenarios adds a valuable layer of capability and situational awareness to the team.


Karl is always ready to step in and lead when needed, doing so in a way that is practical, efficient, and centered on the best outcome for the team. Whether coordinating training, managing drone operations, or supporting field work, he consistently brings clarity, balance, and a steady hand—making him a trusted and highly valued member of any group he serves.

Cyrus Kack - Area Director - Thompson Falls

 

Cyrus Kack is a dedicated member of his community’s emergency response teams, serving in ambulance, fire, and search and rescue roles. Known for his quiet intelligence, he observes carefully and absorbs critical details others might miss. In high-pressure situations, Cyrus combines that awareness with swift, decisive action—consistently helping guide incidents toward safer, more positive outcomes. His calm presence and thoughtful judgment make him a trusted and invaluable part of every team he serves on.

Certified in swiftwater rescue and trained as an EMT, Cyrus has earned the nickname “the Silent Saver” for his behind-the-scenes impact—often stepping in to help those who might otherwise be overlooked. He also holds a part 107 drone pilot license making him an integral part of the drone team. Outside of his service, he enjoys dirt biking, snowmobiling, hiking, backpacking, fishing, paddle boarding, and camping, embracing the outdoors with the same steady confidence he brings to his work.

He is deeply dedicated to his family and friends, always willing to step up when needed. Easygoing by nature, Cyrus has a playful side too, happy to go along with even the silliest moments—bringing balance, warmth, and quiet strength to every part of his life.

John Price - Area Director - East End

 

Raised in the rugged Bitterroot Valley of Montana, Johnathan developed a deep connection to the wilderness from a young age. Growing up in a hardworking family, he spent his summers assisting with building roads and bridges for the Forest Service, learning the value of perseverance and teamwork in challenging environments. The Montana landscape became more than just home—it shaped his skills in navigating the outdoors, instilling in him a strong sense of responsibility and readiness for any situation.

Johnathan’s journey into Search and Rescue (SAR) began during his time with Bighorn’s Journey Program, where he discovered the importance of safety and expertise in high-risk environments. Over time, he realized that his passion for the outdoors and helping others aligned perfectly with the demands of SAR. After earning certifications in Wilderness First Responder (WFR), Alpine Ski Patrol, and Avalanche Hazard Management, Johnathan has committed himself to responding to emergencies in the wild with the precision and knowledge necessary to save lives.

As a SAR specialist, Johnathan is trained to assess high-risk situations, manage resources effectively, and lead teams in search and rescue operations across diverse and often extreme environments. From avalanche zones to ice-covered lakes, his background in technical rescue, snowmobiling and winter sports provides him with a unique skill set to navigate the complexities of wilderness emergencies. He believes in being fully prepared—both mentally and physically—to provide aid in the most challenging conditions.

Outside of SAR missions, Johnathan enjoys the mountains, spending much of his time skiing, ice climbing, and participating in other winter sports. He thrives in the colder months, where harsh conditions serve as a reminder of the importance of preparation, safety, and quick decision-making. Alongside his SAR work, Johnathan is passionate about helping others develop the skills necessary to safely navigate the wilderness, whether through formal training or guiding outdoor expeditions.

With a relentless focus on safety, communication, and teamwork, Johnathan is always ready to step into the most demanding and dangerous situations to help those in need.
